FatRat is an open source download manager for Linux/Unix systems written in C++ with the help of the Trolltech Qt 4 library. It is rich in features and is continuously developed. The current SVN version supports HTTP, FTP, SFTP and BitTorrent downloads/uploads, HTTP/FTP including the proxy support. The transfer speed can be limited, of course. FatRat can perform torrent searches using various search engines, create torrents, compute MD4/MD5/SHA1 hashes, verify RapidShare.com links, download whole RapidShare.com folders, decode RapidSafe links, upload files to RapidShare.com etc. One of the newest things are remote control via Jabber and a RSS reader (with TV shows support). Planned features include Java-applet based web interface, (S)FTP browser and more. The program can be translated using Qt Linguist. The only currently available translation is Czech.
